IEC IBAR

IBAR

The IBAR Range of Power Distribution Busbar Trunking System Products Has Been Developed to Meet the Growing Demands of the Critical Power Industry

Each IBAR system employs innovative designs to improve performance and reduce costs. We have invested in the best available technologies to ensure our finished product is of the highest quality.

Our highly skilled engineering teams and applications engineers can tailor a solution to meet even the most demanding of requirements.

IBAR employs more than 50 years of leading-edge experience incorporating all the quality, reliability and innovation for which Anord Mardix is renowned.

Busbar trunking systems consist of insulated copper or aluminium. IBAR utilize a special epoxy resin coating to insulate each conductor. The coating is applied to the busbars using an in-house developed and industry leading process. Modern busbar trunking is modular in design and is supplied in pre-fabricated lengths and available in a range of conductor configurations.

The product range typically includes elbows, T-connectors, feeder units, panel flanges and various other standard or custom components that make it simple to configure for most applications.

Features

Traditional power cabling methods require long lengths of cabling to be installed in pre-fitted cable trays and then stripped and glanded to terminate.

IBAR busbar trunking systems have significant advantages over cable including improved electrical performance, smaller form factor, faster modular installation and flexibility / transformability of the overall system.

Tap-offs can be added, removed and repositioned as necessary. Busbar installations can be reconfigured easily, quickly and inexpensively if the user’s requirements change.

Busbar trunking is also a more environmentally friendly option. During installation, there is no waste or scrap produced (as there always is with cable), and busbar trunking can easily be removed and re-used where required.

The IBAR HX range of high power, epoxy resin insulated busbar trunking systems are available with a choice of copper or aluminium conductors.

There are many applications which require the ability to move large amounts of power; the most common of which is the transmission of power between transformers and low voltage switchboards and then further sub-distribution.

IBAR provides a high-power transmission / feeder busbar solution with busbar ratings ranging from 1000A up to 6300A. Each rating type can be supplied with between 3 and 6 conductive bars giving options for 3-phase, 3-phase and neutral / protected earth (for loads susceptible to harmonic distortion / leakage currents) and optional double rated neutral. IBAR utilise a specialist epoxy resin coating to insulate each conductor, the coating is applied to the busbars using an in-house developed and industry leading process.

The system consists of a specially engineered extruded aluminium casing and modular connective components. This outer casing encloses a sandwich arrangement of separately insulated busbars.

The standard lengths of 3m, 2m and 1m are available with a wide range of feeder units, elbows, t-sections and offsets / orientation change pieces. Custom engineered components such as custom elbows, offsets, combination pieces and final connection lengths can be manufactured to meet your installation’s requirements and ensure projects are delivered on-time, every time.

IBAR can provide a turn-key solution incorporating transmission / feeder busbar system design, value engineering, project management, delivery, installation, commissioning and lifecycle management.

The IBAR HX range of high power, epoxy resin insulated busbar trunking systems are available with a choice of Copper or Aluminium conductors.

Busbar trunking systems are favoured greatly over traditional fixed position cable installations due to the flexibility of the available tap-off locations.

Each side of the standard straight 3m lengths can be fitted with up to five specially engineered tap-off points at standard or custom locations. Each tap-off location features IBAR ‘Safe-Lock’ technology to ensure all connections are safely and securely made and all parts maintain a minimum ingress protection rating of IP2X during mounting, connection and un-mounting procedures. Visit our dedicated tap-off product page to find out more about our range of standard and custom designed busbar tap-off units.

Each tap-off location features high-integrity weld-bonded copper connection tabs. This high-quality, high-conductivity connection means only a single tap-off location is required for tap-offs of up to 630A.

IBAR provide a high-power distribution busbar solution with busbar ratings ranging from 1000A up to 6300A. Tap-Offs

Tap-offs can be installed on to IBAR Distribution Busbar at any suitable tap-off location point. Tap-offs are typically used on vertical rising mains within multi-storey buildings to distribute power to each floor/area, the tap-off can be used to directly feed equipment or final circuits via a PDU or Distribution Board.

Distribution busbar and tap-offs are also common place within manufacturing / industrial environments where shop floor layouts are dynamically changed to meet the current production demands.

IBAR tap-off’s feature ‘Safe-Lock’ technology to ensure all connections are safely and securely made and connect / disconnect conductors in sequence (protected earth made first, broken last).

    The IBAR’s standard range of tap-offs is available with options for all major component manufacturer’s protective devices such as;

    • Schneider Electric
    • ABB
    • Terasaki
    • Siemens

Our range of tap-offs include a fully welded steel enclosure and feature multiple cable glanding plates and fully shrouded neutral and protected-earth bars. All tap-off doors and breaker connection shrouds feature ‘Anord Mardix Thermagrid’ technology to facilitate safe thermal imaging of the circuit breaker and connections whilst live.

Tap-offs are available with options for environmental and power monitoring which can be fully integrated within a head-end ENMS, SCADA or DCIM system (i.e. Anord Mardix ims DCIM).

IBAR can provide a turn-key solution incorporating distribution busbar system design, value engineering, project management, delivery, installation, commissioning and lifecycle management.
