Job Title: Project accountant/Financial Analyst (Grade 26)
Reports to: Finance Manager/Controller
Location: Henrico, USA
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Managing project data set-up to ensure accurate reporting and system integrity
- Responsible for ensuring all material, labour and expense costs are accurately reflected in project costing system
- Tracking progress of project activities to enable appropriate project financial accounting for revenue recognition, cost recognition and billing
- Preparing monthly financial information and analysis for projects to explain actual financial performance against budget
- Calculation of monthly Work in Progress values for financial reporting
- Audit of Cost of Sales entries to ensure assignment to active projects
- Working with Project Managers to prepare robust financial budgets and forecasts
- Report on product and customer performance to management
- Investigate variances and report on variances to management
- Close out projects upon project completion
- Identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Assist the finance team with process improvements
- Other ad hoc duties that may be assigned to you by management
Experience / Skill Requirements
- Professional accountancy qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
- Must have a strong cost accounting with manufacturing background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles and a strong understanding of ERP systems and associated processes.
- Good IT skills and SAP knowledge would be desirable
- Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Professional working knowledge of Cost Accounting
- Demonstrate expertise in reporting, analysing, and manipulating data
