POSITION TITLE: Production Lead

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• As a working Lead, directs and coordinates the activities in their assigned area to ensure quality, safety, and quantity specifications while working as a team member within the group or assigned line.
• Reviews production schedules with Supervisor, working to identify future needs and issues to include ensuring parts and supplies are available, identifying manpower needs to meet required schedule dates, etc.
• Ensures production goals are met and products are made to specifications.
• Reviews operations and confers with technical or administrative staff to resolve production problems.
• Proactively works to eliminate waste and adds value to all processes.
• Assists in developing and maintaining a skilled workforce by providing training to existing & new operators.
• Identifies safety, quality and production related issues, assists with root cause analysis and validates agreed corrective actions.
• Proactively works to eliminate waste and adds value to all processes.
• Ensures assigned employees adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and perform work practices that are safe and in a clean work environment.
• Ensures assigned employees adhere to company policies and rules, and, when necessary, enact necessary discipline processes up to and including written warnings in conjunction with supervision and Human Resources. Also provides further support and participation when escalation is required.
• All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Education or GED and equivalent of 3 to 5 years or more of practical work experience in a production or manufacturing setting is required. An Engineering or Electrical background is preferred.
• Knowledge of principles and process for providing supervision and leadership with considerable experience supervising, managing and motivating employees in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge and understanding of assembly methods for mechanical, electrical and base plate components.
• Strong technical understanding of set up and maintenance of manufacturing processes, experience in validation, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Familiarity with the development and implementation of work instructions.
• Proven ability to work on own initiative, problem solve and present potential solutions.
• A clear focus, understanding and desire to drive improvement across Safety, Quality and Production.
• Ability to maintain a tactful, orderly working relationship with others.
• Ability to read and write English with excellent communication skills, follow verbal instructions, and use mathematics.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee has constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment and occasional exposure to moderate noise. They must stand and walk constantly. The employee has constant use of hands/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, or handle and manipulate parts and tools. They must constantly reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material. The employee will have frequent repetitive motions and frequently be able to lift or move 25 lbs. The employee has constant requirement of specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus. They must occasionally wear eye protection and other required personal protective equipment (Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the company and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required).
